I heard about this from some fellow erotic romance book nerds as a book for those who were down with the truly weird, gross, and dark. It felt like a challenge and I was down for it! They weren’t wrong at all. The Necromancer’s Bride by Brianna Hale, an expert in taboo and kinky romance, is definitely not for the faint of heart.
Content Warnings:
Death, child death, plague/illness, sex, non-con, dub-con, necrophilia, monster sex, insertion of living…things, and probably more that I can’t think of right now.
All of that said, there is a guaranteed HEA and no cheating.

When I was a child he brought me back from the brink of death. Since that day I have borne his mark, a black star in the center of my left palm. The villagers say it brands me as evil. I think it means something far worse. It marks me as his.
The disease that nearly killed me has returned to the village and children are dying. I’m the only one who dares to climb the mountain and learn his secrets. In exchange I’m to clean his house and help with his strange experiments, but Meremon wants more. He wants me. And it isn’t long before I discover that his demands are as twisted as his experiments.
Strange and dark romantic short story that left me craving more.
The reader is right there with the character – both disgusted and aroused.
Brianna is MASTERFUL and I recommend her books for those looking for very spicy reads with interesting plots.
My only complaint is I wish there was more to the book. I could have read a series of these two.
